Wel, Here We Are With Only 321 Days to Go!

Yes that's right, the days are slipping by very quickly! Seems like only yesterday we were signing up for this crazy Ironman thing!

Where has the time gone? It will come up fast and then we will be there in transition, getting marked and wondering "What the Hell am I doing here?" Well, we will be having fun and becoming Iron because (Uh Brandy, please pay attention here) we took our training seriously! Right Brandy? :-)

Ok, so I just finished a recovery week, but it was still 9 hours and 23 minutes! (Dang, those upcoming base building weeks are going to be tough!) Cool! So my IM AZ peeps, where are you in this journey? Have you started? Do you have a plan laid out? Or, are you still in the Ben and Jerry's? I on the other hand have 14+ hours scheduled next week! MADNESS! MADNESS I SAY!

Hope you all have a great week

You are a funny, funny man, Duane.

I am in the process of stepping away from the sugar cookies and into my running shoes again.

I am a major sissy when it's cold outside. I don't mind running in chilly weather, but biking on the other hand...hahahaa, I don't think so (Molly is much braver than I am).

My official plan probably won't kick into high gear until March or April. Until then I'm just doing a bunch of preliminary base work (I'd call it maintenance, however I haven't done much of anything since October's marathon)...so for now it's HR Zone runs and maybe a road race or two. Until then I'm going to be running, spinning and swimming a few times a week while focusing on strengthening my core. Probably 4-5 days max for now. I tend to burnout during training so I'd rather take it easy now.

Hopefully this won't come back to haunt me later or anything.

Wowza! You're doing 14 hour weeks already? You do know that IMAZ is in November and not April this year, right? :-) I'm just envious b/c I'm definitely still in the Ben & Jerry's. But...I'm slowly getting back into it. Slow base building for a few months -- probably only around 5-8 hr/week right now. My full-on plan doesn't start until end of May.
